Google is restoring missing out on reviews in Google Service Profiles after fixing a bug that caused them to get removed.
Google is fixing a bug that triggered reviews to go missing out on from Google Company Profiles. Google verifies reviews are getting brought back. Google’s Browse Liaison, Danny Sullivan, announced on Buy Twitter Verified in reply to Mike Blumenthal, who says he reported the bug a week earlier.

Blumenthal isn’t exaggerating the seriousness of the bug. Evaluations are a dining establishment’s bread and butter, and removing them can considerably affect income.
There are many threads in the Google Service Profile assist forums begun by company owner who lost most or all of their evaluations.
In each thread, business owners share one thing in typical. After using Google’s recommended edits to their service profile, they all lost reviews.
Blumenthal composes in a blog post that he discovered Google was changing the consumer identification (CID) number when services used suggested edits:
“With some digging, I discovered that in each case Google had actually altered the CID, the identifier Google utilizes to connect all pertinent information to a service, consisting of reviews. Normally the CID only alters when 2 listings combine or Google has hard-suspended a listing for standards violations and after that reinstated it.”
Client evaluations are associated with a particular CID number, which suggests altering the CID gets rid of the evaluations.
That must never happen, particularly not when using Google’s suggested edits.
A fix is on the way, and ideally, it’s as simple as going back the affected Google Company Profiles to their initial CID numbers.
